Displacement, Hospital Damage Reported in Sudan’s Blue Nile

(MENAFN) A medical organization has alleged that the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) forced thousands of civilians from their homes and caused severe damage to healthcare infrastructure in Blue Nile State, located in the country’s southeast.

According to statements from a Sudanese doctors’ association, roughly 3,000 individuals were displaced after RSF fighters entered the town of Al-Kurmuk following intense fighting. The group reported that medical centers were looted and the town’s primary hospital was destroyed during the incursion.

The organization further indicated that essential medical equipment and supplies were taken, and healthcare personnel were attacked during the incident, with one worker left in critical condition.

As a result of the violence, thousands of residents—including women and children—were compelled to flee toward Ad-Damazin as well as nearby regions, including areas across the border into Ethiopia.

The medical network attributed the events to RSF leadership, describing the actions as deliberate and systematic destruction and looting. The paramilitary group has not issued an immediate response to these claims, according to reports.

In a separate statement, Blue Nile Governor Ahmed Al-Omda Badi said that conditions in the state remain under control, including along its borders with Ethiopia and South Sudan. He also noted that upcoming developments may soon enable displaced residents to return to their homes.
